Me, being apparently the eternal optimist (that sometimes falls in to a deep dark pit of anxiety and despair) is wondering what it would take to bring back faith, to bring back hope to people where it has largely been lost. Where it has widely been cast aside as some kind of ugly byproduct of religion.
I have no problem with faith and actually feel as though I am cultivating more of it as my life continues to twist and shake down the path of my life. I am hopeful that somehow I will be able to bring back this extremely important and worthwhile concept and entity to all people. Because we need it. We need faith and we need hope as much as we need food and water. We yearn for attachment and connection not only with each other but with our own souls, with our own spirituality-and oh my god I said the S word.
I really don’t know why we have become unbelievably allergic to the thought of spirituality.
There is nothing wrong with having faith or being spiritual. It also has nothing to do with being religious so don’t worry about me trying to convince anyone to join a white loin clothed cult drinking the koolaid and braiding each others dreadlocked beards under a full moon whilst drinking the blood of fairies. Faith and spirituality means understanding what we are capable of, and that we are a part of something much larger than we are comfortable with realizing at this time.
Do you have faith? What is spirituality to you? Be in touch. I’d like to know your thoughts.
